Mobile Data

Is your laptop feeling disconnected?
It doesn’t have to be that way. Now you can quickly and easily transform your laptop into a truly mobile device with full connectivity to the Internet, without needing a separate mobile phone - just install the user-friendly software, slot the data card in, and you’re ready to go.
You can access email, browse web pages, send and receive text messages, and chat in real time using instant messaging. Your data card can use either GPRS and 3G. 3G is up to seven times faster than a GPRS connection. If 3G isn’t available, the data card automatically switches to the established GPRS data service.

According to a recent survey, "70% of companies that have deployed mobile data use laptops as the primary device."

GPRS
General Packet Radio Service is a mobile technology that allows data to be sent at conventional fixed line speeds. By sending data in small packets instead of large batches as in WAP, GPRS is better suited to the fluctuations of mobile coverage when out of the office. And, you only pay for the data you send.

Vantage offers a wide range of competitively priced bundled packages, to suit your business requirements.

3G
Third Generation (3G) services are the next step up from GPRS. Currently offering download speeds of up to 384Kbps, with higher speeds expected in the future, 3G is key to the future of mobile data communications, enabling bandwidth-hungry applications such as video calling and downloading large email attachments. As with GPRS, 3G services are “always on” and you are charged only for the data you transfer. In areas with no 3G coverage, devices automatically switch to a GPRS connection, meaning you can still transfer data, but at slower speeds.
